Transcript of “Zaunkönig, King of the Fence”
The German word zahn means a fence or a hedge and the German word kunig means king and there’s a German word for the little brown bird called a wren and it’s zahn kunig which means literally king of the fence.
I just love this, you know, these these little birds and their seemingly regal presence despite their small size, just all puffed up sitting there on the fence.
