Here’s a Turkish proverb that’s full of wisdom. Do not roll up your trousers before reaching the stream. Okay, it’s sort of like don’t count your chickens, right? A little bit, yeah. Don’t over plan too, maybe. Yeah, yeah. I’m thinking it’s, you know, dont don’t think you’re gonna get there in software programming. They have kind of a lesson that you learn early on, or some people do, which is don’t pre-optimize or don’t over-optimize before you’re ready. And that sounds a little bit like that.
What does that mean? Well, it’s easy to worry too much about the details before you even have working code. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So people will start commenting their code and make sure the indents are correct and making sure the file names are correct, but the code doesn’t even work yet. So they’re wasting all this time on appearances when the code itself needs some help just to get operated.
Okay. It’s sort of like bike shedding. We talked about that word before. Yeah, bike shedding. This is when you concentrate on the color of the bike shed, but you don’t worry very much about where the nuclear plant is going to go.
