Here’s an Irish saying that I really like, although I find it hard to say.

He’s not as slow as he walks easy.

He’s not as slow as he walks easy?

It means give him the benefit of the doubt that he might come across as kind of dim-witted, but watch out, he’s really dumb like a fox.

So, for example, Columbo might say, I’m not as slow as I walk easy.

I’m not as slow as I walk easy.
