Kapai

Kapai is a Maori term used in New Zealand meaning “good.” This is part of a complete episode.

Transcript of “Kapai”

I met somebody from New Zealand the other day who taught me a Maori word that she grew up with.

And it’s kapai. Do you know this? No, I don’t know that one. K-A-P-A-I, kapai. It means good or fine.

And how do you use it? Just as like an assertion when somebody else is talking or I feel kapai or?

Or kapai, just good. That’s great. Kapai. That’s wonderful. Kapai.
