Transcript of “Wind Pudding and Air Sauce”

We were talking a while back about wind pudding and air sauce, which is one of those sort of dismissive things. You know, you ask Mom what’s for dinner, and she says, wind pudding and air sauce. Right, get out of my hair. Go away.

Yeah, yeah, just something insubstantial. We got a great email from David Lintier, and he says, here in Wisconsin, wind pudding is old lager speak for baked beans. I get it. I see.

He says, near where I live is Wind Pudding Lake, named after an old logging camp whose owners fed their help beans so often that the camp became Wind Pudding Camp, and the lake nearby was memorialized as well. I love that.

Okay, sure. I’m not sure I want a vacation at Wind Pudding Lake, but if you have, let us know how it was. 877-929-9673, or tell us about it in email, words@waywordradio.org.

Thank you.
