“Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was black as ink, it chewed the paper off the walls and spit it in the sink.” There’s a variation you probably missed on the playground! This is part of a complete episode.
Transcript of “Mary Had a Little Problem”
Here’s a different verse to Mary had a little lamb. Okay, Mary had a little lamb.
Its fleece was black as ink. It chewed the paper off the walls and spit it in the sink.
We used to do that too. You make up rhymes, right? Yeah, yeah, little variations because you get kind
of tired. Every year some teacher like, oh, today we’re going to read this story. Like, you know what?
Every year of my childhood, somebody’s read me that story.
Let’s do something new.
So you’d play around with it, make new verses.
Send us your childhood rhymes, words@waywordradio.org.
