leisure sickness

leisure sickness
n.— «Believe it or not, there are actually people who suffer from what is known as “leisure sickness,” which is a condition that develops on weekends or vacations. The sample size for the study (almost 2,000 men and women) was large enough to find some interesting results. Just about 3.5% of the men suffered from it and somewhere between almost 3-3/4% of the women. It was, in fact, seen as a common malady. I would suspect there a major element of guilt at taking time for a pleasurable activity like a vacation.» —“Vacations, Heart Attacks and Health” by Patricia A.
