In Michigan, tourists are called trunk-slammers for how often they slam their trunk unpacking and repacking over the course of a weekend trip. This is part of a complete episode.
Transcript of “Trunkslammers”
Here’s a term from Patricia Sohn.
She tells us about Michigan, where she learned from a friend that they called tourists.
They are trunk slammers.
Trunk slammers.
That’s perfect.
They arrive for the weekend.
They’re slamming around.
They’re making all these new noises.
Slamming the trunk.
Slamming the door.
Constantly in and out of the car.
And then just two days later, they turn around, and they’re packing the car up and slamming the doors and slamming the trunk and slamming the house, and they’re gone.
And then it’s quiet.
I love that.
Trunk slammer.
