No Ring Toss at the Textile Park

A Southern California resort for nudists—or naturists, as some prefer to be called—had a recent change of management, and residents received a notice that the place will now become a textile park. The word textile is often used in that community as an adjective to distinguish between those who prefer clothing and those who make a habit of going without This is part of a complete episode.

I came across an interesting use of the word textile. At least it was new to me.

And I saw it in news articles about an RV park and resort here in Southern California.

It’s long been known as a nudist resort or a naturist resort, if you prefer.

And it’s a place where clothing has been completely optional at all times,

But the resort’s now under new management.

And a few months ago, the people who live there got a notice that the place will now become a textile park.

Oh, yeah. I’ve seen that, too.

So it’s the opposite of naturist or nudist, right?

Yeah. Yeah. Apparently, this is a usage in the nudist community.

You know, you might say, oh, no, that’s a textile beach, not a nude one.

Or they’re a mixed couple.

She’s textile, he’s a naturist.

Oh, that’s so interesting.

I imagine there’ll be protests

Because they have a lot of skin in the game.

Did everyone…
