surface computer
n.— «The Microsoft Surface, as it will be known, is the product of five years of research and is the first iteration of what MS is coining “surface computers” that will rely upon touch as the sole method of interactivity. In images and videos released, Microsoft shows the Surface performing a variety of tasks, from serving as a futuristic finger-painting canvas to a gesture-based media browsing tool. Photos can be manually pulled from a stack and resized, maps can be flown over and routs plotted.» —“Microsoft Surface Unveiled” by Gerry Block IGN May 30, 2007. (source: Double-Tongued Dictionary)
