i18n

i18n n. internationalization. Editorial Note: This term is usually used in the localization of software, in which all text is translated into other foreign languages. It is sometimes written as il8n, where the second letter is a lower-case L, rather than a numeral 1. It is usually not capitalized to avoid confusion between an upper-case I and the second letter. A similar word is l10n ‘localization.’ Etymological Note: The “18” replaces the middle 18 letters in the word internationalization. (source: Double-Tongued Dictionary)
