A Few Reasonable Words

Goethe wasn’t all about the minerals. He’s also quoted as saying, “One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.” Goethe also said, “Everything is simpler than one can imagine and yet complicated and intertwined beyond comprehension,” which seems quite appropriate for a poet whose name graces rocks on another planet. This is part of a complete episode.

Transcript of “A Few Reasonable Words”

I have one more quotation from Goethe I’d like to share.

It goes,

One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture,

And if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.

Nice.

That’s why I have the Mars rover bookmarked in my browser, so at least every day I can see a fine picture.
