frolf

frolf
n.— «Situated between a burger joint and a shopping mall, the newest disc golf course may open as early as January, according to the Monterey Park and Recreation Commission. The rules are similar to those in conventional golf—but it’s played with flying discs instead of balls. Instead of little holes, players aim for metal baskets with hanging chains. Because the discs look like Frisbees, the sport is sometimes called “Frolf.”» —“Frolf, anyone? Monterey to build disc golf course” in Monterey, California Mercury News (San Jose, California) Nov. 26, 2006. (source: Double-Tongued Dictionary)
