Prepostions

I disagreed with the show's advice that it is ok to end a sentence with a prepostion. Ending a sentence with a prepostion reduces the emphasis of the sentence. One can construct a more precise sentence than one that ends in a prepostion. This is as bad as starting a sentence with a conjunction. It is wrong to accept this merely because "we understand what people are trying to say." The rules of grammar exist for a reason and should be followed. If we are not going to follow them we might as well stop teaching English in schools.

Any grammar that's good enough for the Good Book is good enough for me.

2 Peter 2:2 ... by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

Et al.

And almost every other sentence starts with And.

Them wuz real skollers thet dun translated that.

But a sentence should stand alone.

Opening conjunctions suggest there is context outside the setence that is related to it.
