convenio

convenio n. a convenience store sited with a gas (petrol) fueling station. Etymological Note: The first line of such stores in India, emulating shop-and-fuel stations in the Americas and Europe, were opened by the Indian Oil Company (IOC) and branded as “Convenios.” Later, competing fueling stations adopted the concept and made the name generic. As of autumn 2004, enthusiasm for the concept was reported to be waning. (source: Double-Tongued Dictionary)
