Ha! I shared an office with an just-slightly-ex Wall Street Journal reporter twenty odd years ago, and that's when I grasped the true and utter sense of "a mile wide and an inch deep"!

Heh. Well, I was trained as a journo myself, which is why the definition rang true! 🙂

I know that there is such a word; I've seen it defined.  But I'll be darned if I can think of it now.  I'll look for it, tho.
