Hi,

The star has a deep antipathy for/to/toward the press.

   1. Which preposition is better?

   2. In fact, the answer to the question on my book is "for", but I looked up the word antipathy on the Oxford Dictionary, and what I found is ...

        antipathy (to/toward(s) somebody/something)

        his antipathy for his boss

They have a mutual antipathy to each other.

I am really confused! Could any English native speakers help me with this? Thank you very much!

Google Ngrams shows antipathy to as always being in the lead but significantly declining over the past 200 years. Antipathy toward has slowly increased in the same time frame. Antipathy for has been more nearly constant, peaking in the 1940s and now is less popular than the other two.
