Technology out to get us!

About a year ago, the show might be older, I heard Grant and Martha talking about a word that is used to describe the idea that electronics or technology is out to get us. I cannot remember anything about the word. Does anyone have any leads or ideas?

Would that be Toffler's term Future Shock?

I don't recall a program including it but "technophobia" fits your definition.

The word or term was not Future Shockto my recollection, but I could see how it overlaps with that idea.   It was more along the lines of the description of the intent of technology to do harm rather than describing the emotional state of the agent. I might have to listen to all the shows from around the time...

Thanks for the replies hitherto. I could really go for a Baader-Meinhof moment right now.

Could the desired term be pathetic fallacy?

I just listened to the show with the word "Luddite." However, this isn't what I remember of the caller or as being the word. The pathetic fallacy is in line with the idea. You have to possess the pathetic fallacy or at least comprehend it to be able to explain this idea of technology actively being out to get you. Today, I will start combing through shows that could possibly be it. Looking forward to more answer, the ones so far are really interesting ideas by themselves.

The word was resistentialism and we talked about it in this episode from September 2008.

Thank you Grant! That is it. I guess in my immanent musings on this idea I applied the obverse, technology, in place of inanimate.
