First, Jay Nordlinger at the National Review blog “Corner” comments on what he considers to be the correct pronunciaton of “forte.”

Then he comments on all the mail he received about it, saying "Inevitably, incorrect pronunciation will swamp correct pronunciation—so the incorrect will become the correct." He specifically calls attention to forte, coup de grâce, err, and short-lived.

Then Kevin Drum at the “Political Animal” blog at CBS News responds, "What strikes me as odd is that I've never heard any of these four words pronounced the way Nordlinger (and the dictionary) says they should be."
