Meaning and background for the name 'Aissa'

There is a website http://www.aussiethings.com.au/babynames/agirl.htm,
where you can find a lot of English names with associated names.

I would like to know:

1. Whether the name 'Aissa' means 'Vision, Dream, Adventurous, Beautiful'? What is the historical background for this name? How to pronounce it?

2. In general, what is the official or most authoritative resource to find the meaning and historical background for English names?

Thanks.

Great question, zrcao. Maybe we could take it up on the show?
