Go aheads, make my day

My mom--from Nebraska--called sandals go-aheads, since walking backward in them would have you walk out the back (you could only go ahead). I'd never heard anyone else refer to them by that, until now. Growing up in Seal Beach California, we also called 'em zories, thongs and flip-flops. This is, I reckon, much like how eskimos have dozens of words to describe snow.

Thanks for that nostalgic look back!
