My nephew introduced me to “garden path sentences,” sentences that are gramatically correct but sound awkward until properly analyzed. Â Wikipedia has an article on them. Â An example is “The old man the boat.” (think of “old as a noun and “man” as a verb. Â Anyone have other examples (more can be found on Wikipedia)?
