Dauntsy, dauncy, dawnsey. . . ?

When my grandmother was feeling less than fully work-brickle, she would describe herself as feeling something that sounded like "dauntsy". I'm not sure how to spell it, becaue I've never seen it in print. As she used the term, it means feeling not up to par, not completely well, but without any specific symptoms.

Is this a real word? Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Thanks!
