This is a list, of what I believe are US-origin expressions, that I heard used in various types of UK media.
At this time, I'm uncertain about the US origin of "the sky's the limit."
They were used in a straightforward, matter-of-fact way, without comment by the participants and
without any sense of irony or self-consciousness. They came from comedy, drama, and news programs.
