A tea, a coffee

A polite party sometimes is called   a tea, a coffee.   Are there many other ways that party is namesake of food ?  A  'sushi party'  doesn't count- has to be the name of the food alone.  A barbecue, yes.

A barbeque, a wiener roast, a fish fry?

Not a party, but you can find yourself caught in a pickle

Actually I only saw  coffee  for the first time from a book.   I have never seen or  heard it used that way anywhere else.

My wife attended a "royal tea" on our Princess cruise from Vancouver to Alaska. It was just her choice of tea and some nice cookies. Don't know the origin of the term, but wonder if it's a play on "royalty" (might be a British thing)?

My son-in-law called me and said, "I'm having a Scotch. Come on over." Sounds the same to me as "Please come to our tea," only friendlier.

Sounds better than having a Danish.  Judging from Victor Borge, I'd guess Danish are old and tough.  I suspect the Swedish Bikini Team would be more fun to eat.

The Wolfe Clinic has tested hundreds of colon and intestinal cleansing products and Royal Tea is, by far, the best. - Shop The Wolfe Clinic

If that's what they serve on Princess Cruises, I think I'd rather take a Greyhound SceniCruiser.
