Lately, I've seen "whilst" a bit more often than I'd like to.

The Brits and Aussies I know use it consistently. I've never heard it from someone native to the US or Canada. I think it is regional.

Precisely my experience. Brits are much more likely to use whilst, as they are 'amongst' as well.

It's a holdover from classical English. I don't mind a bit if it makes a comeback.
