Jeffrey Barg, "The Angry Grammarian," has an article in Philadelphia Weekly about Johns Hopkins professor D.N. DeLuna's coinage of "hu" as a third-person singular gender-neutral pronoun—and her perverse use of it in one of her own books.
By the way, Jeffrey has a podcast of the Angry Grammarian, too.
