I was listening to the program a couple of weeks ago and I heard the word for that spot on your back you can't reach... I was hurrying, and I've forgotten the word. It's driving me bonkers! Does anybody remember?
Probably not what your were looking for, since I sense you want a single word, but it could be called the "central thoracic epidermis." That spot between your shoulder blades that most (but not all) people can reach only with the help of a mechanical back scratcher, or conveniently located tree.
Following the example of Rich Hall who wrote "Sniglets," a compendium of made-up words with useful meanings (back in the 80s), I would suggest maybe "reachcluse" ??? Not all that clever. I'm sure other forum members could do better.
I actually sent Hall a solicited entry for his sequel (which never got to print). That sniglet was "geogoraphobia" and its meaning was "the common situation in which the detail you seek in a map atlas always lies hidden in the fold between the pages." Now that I thought was clever. Unfortunately, it never made it to print.
