Where does the word 'seesaw' come from? What's the idea behind it? (Maybe I have to imagine two people sawing a log or whatever with one of those saws requiring two persons to work with!)

There's several good etymology websites I use. This one: http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?allowed_in_frame=0&search=seesaw&searchmode=none
provides some insights that seesaw (as a playground toy) is indeed related to the repetitive motion of sawing timber with a two-person crosscut saw.
