I just noticed that each time I viewed my own post, whether the displayed page or the editing page, the views-counter counted once ( The eight views at the time I'm writing this are all mine!). Wouldn't it be better if it would count once for each viewer, just as the possibility of rating the posts? Haven't noticed, however, whether this (the current practice of the site) is something common (but I don't think it is).

In Google Analytics, the software we use to track visits throughout the site, none of my or Martha's visits are counted at all anywhere on the site. That seems like a fair way to do it; otherwise the stats would be artificially juked. Similiarly, on the forum, I agree that a poster's views shouldn't count when they're submitting a new topic or previewing their comment. I'll see if the forum software has some way to count them more reasonably.
