Welcome to the forum, nizamgph. How the heck do you pronounce that? Is that a real name or a screen name?

There isn't really an "Introductions" thread on this forum, so no need to formally request a welcome. At least not that I'm aware of. But you will find some very smart people here that can help you learn the nuances of American English. And a few other languages as well. But I don't think many members speak Bengali. You may well be the first.

Again, welcome, and feel free to post any questions in a separate new thread.

'Please welcome me' is pretty exotic to my ear. Perhaps you meant to be funny. Or maybe that's customary of your culture.

An excellent point, Robert. I know zip about Bangladeshian culture, but I do know that in any culture, the sentiment (usually unspoken) in a situation where one is being introduced into a new group is to want to feel welcomed. Though in American English we usually cloak that sentiment in a less obvious phrase. Like, for example, "Pleased to meet you." with the reciprocal "I hope you're also pleased to meet me." left unspoken.
