I'm not crazy abt this new forum format. Am I the only one who feels this way?

I was excited when you originally put the forum up. But I'm losing my enthusiasm with this new format. Its too hard to find topics. Too restrictive. I liked the freedom of subjects in the old forum. I don't like having to figure out which pre-arrnged thread I have to put my topic into or try to figure out which thread I want to look at through the eyes of organized titles that may or may not resonate with me. I hope you can open it up a little. I'm not feeling inspired to participate much. Am I the only one who feels this way? Tippytoes

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, Tippytoes. The layout is more filled with lines and gradients and stuff, but content-wise the front page is very similar to the old forum: a list of active threads at the top and the main forums at the bottom.

Now, there's a bunch of stuff I'd like to change about it, but if you want to make your own suggestions for better ways to display the info, we'd welcome them. I'm not sure when I'm going to get to redoing the layout, but I will, eventually.

It feels a little cramped to me too. I think it's partly the big graphic and header at the top. Not a big deal, though.

Also, the headlines seem to have gotten longer in the new forum.

Oh, and the math problem for every comment makes me a little uneasy. If only I could figure out a way to get a computer to automate around that...

I just joined the forum. I thought it was amusingly contradictory? incongruous? to have to do a math problem to register for a word-lover's discussion board. How about we have to correct the spelling of a word? Spell a word backward? Do an anagram? Give a synonym? Give an antonym? Divide a word into syllables? Give a word that fits a particular part of speech?

There has to be a word-friendly proof that we're among the quick (not the dead)...
