Doppus = Doppik?

Hi Folks!

A couple of months ago a question came up about the word "Doppik". I think that they said it was a word similar to the German Dumkopf -- a fool or idiot.

I wrote to the program immediately and asked about a word I was raised with. My grandfather used the word "doppus" to eman a fool. Unfortunately, I listened for the next couple of weeks but there was no response to my query.

I'm wondering if this is the same root as Doppik -- only maybe Doppus might be Bohemian??
