I've been remiss in noting the death last month of Robert Shields, the protestant minister born in Seymour, Indiana, who left behind a diary of his life consisting of some 37.5 million words, a possible world record. Holy cow! Although I do have to wonder how many emails I've sent in the last 16 years. And I'm realizing that my "sent" file pretty much doubles as my own diary. How about the rest of you?
Martha,
I keep almost all of my email. And, since I work for the State of Missouri and its administration was excoriated for deleting "public records" and violating state law, maybe keeping my email is a good thing.
Emmett
It IS, Emmett. I just had a hard drive crash and felt completely bereft for days before I got all my old email reinstalled. Scary feeling, that.
