Dick Cavett's back on the language beat again on his New York Times blog, this time in a post about the circumferential obfuscation of people who testify before Congress. "Who imposes this phony, academic-sounding verbal junk on brave and hard-working men and women who don't need the added burden of trying to talk like effete characters from Victorian novels?"
