The word you are looking for is spelled "whether." Aside from the small spelling issue, your sentence is fine.
Actually there are three words that sound identical, but are spelled differently: whether; weather; and wether. "Wether" is infrequently used. It means a castrated ram. It might not be in every dictionary.
