It really depends on your OS (which you don't identify). But if you have iTunes on your system, what usually happens is that ALL *.mp3 files get stored in the same location. Sorta' like how Windows puts all image files into a MY PHOTOS folder (unless you tell it to do otherwise). You'll probably need to delve into the settings of your iTunes app, or your OS, to change this behavior. Tell us which OS you have, and we might be able to suggest something more specific.
"Does anyone happen to know of a method that would put the archived shows I download from the AWWW in the same place as the shows I get from the podcast area of Itunes? "
This method will put them into the Podcast list, but it will not put them into the same A Way with Words podcast list, due to technical reasons.
If they are showing up in the "Music" view in iTunes, then select them all, choose menu item File > Get Info (you may get an alert reminding you that you are editing multiple files), then, in the File Information dialog box, go to the Info tab. Change the Album name to "A Way with Words - DL" ("DL" for "downloaded". You could name it "A Way with Words" but then you would have 2 podcasts name AWWW, which could be confusing), then go to the Options tab and set the Media Kind to "Podcast". Click the "OK" button to save these settings.
Then, go to your Podcasts view and the files should now appear under a new Podcast list named "A Way with Words - DL".
You will have to do this every time you download a new file from the AWWW website.
(This is how you can do it on a Macintosh computer, I assume the steps on a Windows computer would be similar.)
