In contrast with the Urban Dictionary's definition of scoach as stealing, here in southwest Missouri, scoach means a little bit.

Does anyone have any more info one it? I'll admit I am spelling it phonetically.

You will find “skosh” as an entry in many dictionaries. They say it comes from Japanese “sukoshi” for a little bit. Here's a bit:

Although I cannot remember a time my dad used it and he claims to remember very little Japanese, he was part of the occupation forces after WWII and may have had a scoach more contact since he was a base telephone operator.

It's a great word. I had no idea of the origin till your question. It's not obviously Japanese, so it is notable for the next time someone uses it in a bar.

I love this word, too. Kind of sounds like what it is. Then again, I love all kinds of words for "a very small portion of something," like dite.
