In roller derby we are expected to choose a name for ourselves that becomes our public persona. Some evoke menace, others are silly, but they almost always involve some amount of word play. Examples might include: "Tara Armov," "Isabelle Ringer," and "Maiden Hell."
I am, however, experiencing a bit of a block in coming up with one for myself and hoped this fine community could help.
Firstly, as a referee, the name would ideally incorporate elements of that role, like enforcement or justice. It needs to be short, preferably two to three words in length, and since I'm a guy, male or neutral gendered names would be appreciated. I had previously come up with "Loudon Clear," but realized I'm not much of a fan being called "Loudon," even if it demonstrates what I'm aiming for in a name. Lastly, if possible, I'd love suggestions that use the real name "Hans," but at this point I'm open to any suggestions.
Thanks in advance for helping me work this out
oooh! Derby Names!
if you're looking for something with Hans.. hm.. Now, are you looking for something pronounced more 'Hahns' or 'hans' (like hands with out the 'd')?
- Hans Off (which i realize a variation was suggested above, but this one is a bit more obvious how to say it)
- Hans Some
- Dirty Hans
- Hans Panzer (Panzer is a German Tank)
- Perhaps a play off of Hans Gruber from Die Hard?
- Reffer Madness (playing off the scare-propo film 'Reefer Madness') -- aw.. looks like this one was taken already.
- Blind Justice
- Jammin' Judge
- Luce Lawless
None of these are particularly outstanding, but perhaps they can inspire something else. Hopefully no one near you uses the one you want!
Other Ref-y adjectives for others ideas:
- Roll (Rolling, Roller)
- Judge/Justice, Jury, Executioner
- Penalty
- Jam
