I don't think I completely agree with that because that makes us follow the thread reversely. But why not put all the posts on one page, as before? Don't think it will cause that much of speed problem. Or we could simply switch the number of pages. The page that is NOW going to be the second, will then be the first.
Sorry, but we're not going to reorder the posts within comment threads. It's counter to standard practice on the web and the normal top-down reading style of most documents elsewhere in life. It is true that the topic listing is newest on top, but that, too, is standard practice on the web and is an effective way of surfacing new comments.
You should, however, find that thread that go on for more than one page of comments will start on the last page. I may change that but for now it seems like a good way to make sure that when someone comes into a new, long conversation, they're not completely at sea and don't have to scroll back for pages to figure out what is going on.
Rafee, we'll see about getting more comments to display on each page. The new version of the forum software reset some of the defaults, and I believe that was one of them.
