  A woman rejects a man.   The man kills the woman.   There are numerous variations on this all too common scenario.   While we have patricide and matricide for events which are much less common, do we have a single word for this horrible event?

Hiya Grandpa Bob, and welcome to the forum.

The first thing I could think of to answer your question is just plain "homicide."

Then I checked here (for what it's worth):   http://phrontistery.info/kill.html

The second thing I could think of was still "homicide." The suggested "femicide" on that list seems a bit contrived, even if it's correct Latin.
