Yes. Yes it is.
The belief that the genitive should always be used when qualifying a gerund was taken to the extreme in H.W. Fowler's A Dictionary of Modern English Usage, in which he insisted that there was no other way. For example, he insisted upon the construction, "'We cannot deny the possibility of anything's happening,'" or "'This will result in many's having to go into lodgings.'" (Citation: Bill Bryson, Bryson's Dictionary of Troublesome Words 87 (2002).)
