"Home again the same day"

When we were kids, upon returning home, my father would say, "Home again the same day." He took special joy in saying it when had been away for weeks. He got it from his father who has since past away. He doesn't recall the origin, and web searches provide too many results so far. It has a sing-songy quality to it, so I imagine it's from a song. If anyone knows of the saying or a better place then google to search lyrics I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the help!
