Breaking wind...

How many ways can we refer to a "fart"?   There are the regulars - cutting the cheese, breaking wind.

My family   had a term for it that I have never heard anywhere else.   My mom loved to use cute, innocent-sounding words for not-so-cute things.   We grew up calling it "blowing a spoofer"!   I don't know if she just though that sounded funny, or if there is some origin to it.   Has anyone else ever heard this?
