I am amazed at the colorful expressions that people use for the problems they encounter. One of my colleagues is fond of using the expression "pushing a rope" for a job being done in the most difficult way possible, when it might otherwise be quite easy. One of my other favorites expresses how some people like to be in charge, but never make decisions: "Running that meeting was like nailing Jell-o to a tree."
So what colorful expressions do you use or hear when on the job?
