I heard this word on another podcast and thought it might just be the greatest  onomatopoeia ever.

bor ·bo ·ryg ·mus (bôrb-rgms)
A rumbling noise produced by the movement of gas through the intestines.

dayofthedave, welcome to the Forum.
 
It's a convincing enough case for onomatopoeia, though not quite as obvious as, say, burping, though granted it's a lot harder to do the stomach rumbling, which by the way makes it 2nd degree  onomatopoeia for rumbling is itself a one.
