Bi-opic/Biopic... Baader Meinhoff

[First time poster/longtime listener... Not sure if I'm going about this properly, as in placement of this discussion item.] Regarding today's program broadcast (March 4, 2012):

I *SWEAR* THIS IS THE HONEST-TO-GOSH TRUTH!   As I was listening to the program today, I was going through an old email account on Yahoo that I haven't even checked   in over a year.   The inbox had approximately 5000 messages that I was systematically deleting page by page.   After about 10 pages of deletions, I scanned the listing of subject lines (as I had done with each previous page) just in case there was something important to save elsewhere before deletion. As my eyes reached the midpoint of the page, they focused on the word "BioOptics" at the *precise* moment that the question concerning "Bi-opic" versus "Bio-pic" was raised on the air.   Around these parts this phenomenon of a seemingly random but somehow serendipitous conjunction of otherwise obscure words/phrases/concepts is referred to as a "Baader Meinhoff" (and probably elsewhere as well.)   Anyway, I thought it was worth mentioning.   (Perhaps you had to "be there.")

Anyway, the experience was very exciting for me! (I don't get out much.) Thanks for listening!

p.s. This is the link to the publication (BioOptics World) referenced in the email: http://www.BioOpticsworld.com/articles/print/volume-5/issue-1.html

This same thing happens to me.   It is frequent, I think, but I look for it to happen and celebrate at the slightest connection.   I'm glad to have a name for the phenomenon.
