The Fate of Cursive
“Cursive†as we know it is not faring well. Throughout history handwriting methods have come and gone, sometimes depending on the tools with which people wrote, and somewhat according to fashion. It is doubtful that writing by hand will disappear. We humans like to express ourselves, maybe even hope that our expressions will last and be recognized by many.
The cursive in question is not the easiest to teach in the 21st century. There is a cursive that has stood the test of time for 500 years, cursive italic, a modern version is easy to teach and learn, and it serves the need for fast and legible writing. Some consider it attractive.
Keyboards? Well, they may become extinct with advancing technology. Self-expression will survive.
