a colleague at work is from New Zealand. she has noticed a new word that neither of us recognize. People are apparently saying "the city was munted" We guess it means destroyed or damaged but are at a loss for words... any help?

It is also new to me. Collins dictionary has an entry for this as New Zealand slang for destroyed or ruined:

munted
