WASHINGTON (AFP) -- OMG! What is that on my car's license plate?
That's the question asked by 10,000 drivers who registered their vehicles in North Carolina last year and got registrations starting with "WTF."

Well, I'm the naive one. At first I thought it might stand for "white trash female." (Like anyone would put THAT in the personals!) Suddenly it clicked! Well, it's a memorable plate, for better or for worse. Gives the license plate game a whole new twist.....
